BEN Amos was absent from the Millwall squad for their 2-1 FA Cup third-round win over Hull City on Sunday with a damaged finger.
Amos picked up the injury last Friday and will be assessed this week.
David Martin was on the bench against the Tigers, and Tom King has returned to the Lions from his loan spell with AFC Wimbledon.
“Ben’s got a chipped bone in his finger,” Harris explained on Sunday. “He did it Friday in training and had an X-ray Saturday morning. He’s not been able to see a specialist yet with it being the weekend.
“We won’t know the extent of the damage until probably [Monday].”
Harris added that the club will weigh up whether to send players out on loan again when the injury situation becomes clearer.
He said: “We let them all out because they need to play at a young age to gain experience, but then we have to make sure we don’t leave ourselves short. It’s a fine balance.
“Conor McLaughlin has a quad problem. He tried to [train Saturday] but he wasn’t right, so he’s still going to be a few weeks.
“Once we get an understanding of where Shaun Hutchinson is at, where Ben Amos is at, Lee Gregory, Conor McLaughlin, how the players came through [Sunday], then we can start assessing what we do with loan players.”
Hutchinson suffered a gash to his shin putting his bin out last week, with Alex Pearce starting against Hull.
Harris said: “He’s walking around, he’s fine. But until he tries to put a shin pad on, to start with, and gets out on the training pitch…he might get out there this week, we’ll have to see how he goes.
“But I thought Alex Pearce was excellent on his debut.”
