JAMES Meredith has a calf injury – and is a doubt to face his former club Derby County on Wednesday night.
The Lions could be short at the back if Shaun Hutchinson isn’t risked as he struggles with a neck injury. Meredith hasn’t played since the 2-0 defeat at home to Blackburn on January 12.
If Millwall vice-skipper Hutchinson doesn’t start then Murray Wallace could move into the centre of defence to partner Jake Cooper with Shane Ferguson moving to left-back.
Alex Pearce can’t face his parent club.
“Mezza has had a calf injury, it was a training ground injury,” Lions boss Neil Harris explained. “Whether he’s fit for Wednesday, we’ll have to see.
“Hutchie has had a neck issue for the last three weeks. It was just a question of when we could pull him out of the firing line [at Wimbledon].
“He was playing so well but Pearcey has been outstanding, with his focus, and his leadership qualities are right up there with the best I’ve worked with.
“It was a great game for him to some into with that leadership playing alongside two young players in Mahlon [Romeo] and Jake [Cooper]. It worked really well for us.
“Hopefully Hutch is able to train and come back into the mix for Wednesday.”
Millwall are also hoping Tom Elliott is fit to play at Pride Park.
Harris said: “Possibly. Tom played 30 minutes [at Kingsmeadow] but had only trained one day in 12. Tom was out six-and-a-half weeks so to play from the start would be a big ask for him.
“What we’ve not got is three games in six days so I have to make sure I pick the right mix of players.”
