MILLWALL have struck a deal to sign Republic of Ireland uner-21 international midfielder Jayson Molumby from Brighton.
Molumby, 19, is joining the Lions on a season-long loan from the Premier League Seagulls.
The transfer is a coup for Millwall as they add one of Ireland’s brightest prospects to their squad.
Waterford-born Molumby is an all-round midfielder who was named the fourth best player at this summer’s under-20 Toulon Tournament in France.
Ireland topped their group to reach the semi-finals, where they lost 2-0 to eventual winners Brazil.
Douglas Luiz of Manchester City was named player of the tournament, with team-mate Lyanco, who plays for Bologna, second and Ao Tanaka of Japan, who lost to Brazil on penalties in the decider, third.
Molumby joined Brighton in 2015 and has made two senior appearances, both in the EFL Cup in 2017-18. He has played five times in the EFL Trophy. He has also signed a new deal with Brighton until 2021.
He was at Millwall’s training ground on Tuesday morning meeting his new team-mates, and becomes the club’s seventh signing of a busy summer.
