BEN Marshall hasn’t lost a game in a Millwall shirt – and he isn’t planning on starting now.
The on-loan Wolves winger set up Tom Elliott’s opener at Bolton on Tuesday night and and then scored the second after the break to send Millwall into sixth.
The Lions are unbeaten in 16 league games, 12 of them with Marshall in the side.
“I’ve not experienced it yet but hopefully it can keep going like that and then who knows,” Marshall said. “It’s in our hands now and up to us to get results.
“The feeling around the dressing room is one of excitement, we feel we’ve got nothing to lose. If we can keep doing what we’re doing and keep getting three points it’ll all come.
“There’s a confidence there. When we went 2-0 up we had another couple of chances, I’d another chance that I should have done better with. But you can see the confidence, stringing the passes together, a few tricks here and there. That’s the confidence that you need and want.
“We can’t seem to do anything wrong at the moment. It’s good times.”
At The Macron Stadium, Marshall arrived in the penalty area to slam past goalkeeper Ben Alnwick after a devastating Millwall counter-attack following a Bolton corner.
And he explained how he was in that position after Mahlon Romeo ran the length of the pitch before crossing low into the box.
“I didn’t keep up, he was slowing down and I was catching up!” Marshall joked. “I just carried on and luckily it broke to me and I put it in the net.
“It’s what we wanted. I thought it was going to be a tough place to come with them trying to avoid relegation.
“The boys did great, we dug in and luckily managed to get three points.
“Tom’s been brilliant, against Hull he was brilliant and he got his chance [Tuesday night]. He’s a strong boy and his header was brilliant.”
Marshall’s goal was his third for the club, to add to five assists.
“When they go in they seem to go in all in a bunch. Sometimes it takes you a while, but luckily I’ve managed to chip in with a few assists and a couple of goals.”
