NEW signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers Jed Wallace is in contention to start for Millwall at Oldham on Saturday.
Midfielder Wallace trained with the Lions on Friday morning following his loan move from the Championship side, and manager Neil Harris could draft him straight into his line-up.
With George Saville back at Wolves, Ed Upson or Jimmy Abdou could partner Shaun Williams in midfield.
Carlos Edwards is out with a hamstring injury, while there is still a doubt over his potential replacement Shaun Cummings.
Shane Ferguson could play his last game for the club before his scheduled loan ends, with Harris still waiting for Newcastle to decide on the player’s future.
Striker John Marquis may also be in the matchday squad following his return from Leyton Orient.
Oldham have won just one league game at home this season, against Fleetwood in August. The Latics lost top scorer Danny Philliskirk, who netted the winner in that game, and winger Mark Yeates to Blackpool this week.
Manager David Dunn, under pressure after just three wins in 19 games since he took over from the sacked Darren Kelly in September, is boosted by the news defensive pair Cameron Dummigan and Daniel Lafferty have re-signed from Burnley until the end of January.
Dunn is aware of the challenge Millwall will present as he chases a first home league win as a manager.
The former Blackburn Rovers midfielder told Oldham’s official website: “They are a good side and very organised. They have good commitment towards their manager and they have some dangerous players.
“A couple of them have gone back to their parent clubs now so we are playing them while they have a couple of players missing but in the last few weeks our training has been good and I’ve been happy with it.”
