Bermondsey Town cruised to a 4-0 victory against bottom side Kent United in the Kent County Football League Premier Division at St Paul’s on Saturday afternoon.
Nine minutes in, Town had a good chance to open the scoring after great link-up play between winger Jerry Afamafune and striker Agbor Sobeh. Sobeh cut the ball back to the edge of the box to Afamafune whose from 20 yards went over the bar.
After 30 minutes, Samuel Ugo showed individual brilliance to beat the opposing right-back and get in one-on-one for a composed finish and his first goal in Bermondsey colours.
Six minutes later, Ugo scored his second when he found the back of the net from the edge of the box.
United had their first real chance three minutes before half-time only to be denied by Bermondsey goalkeeper Will Radford’s brilliant save.
Town controlled possession in the second half to frustrate their opponents and added a third goal in the 72nd minute when captain Kai Bichard slotted home a low, driven shot.
The hosts didn’t let up in front of an attendance of 87 and made it 4-0 with nine minutes left when seventeen-year-old substitute Justin Hancock fired into the top-right corner from the edge of the area for his first goal for the club.
