Three cats died in a fire in Crystal Palace on Monday (March 22).
The blaze had broken out in a garden building in Tudor Road around half four in the afternoon.
Firefighters rescued four cats from the building but three of them died soon after.
No people were harmed but part of a single-storey building divided into two flats was damaged.
A resident had called 999 after seeing smoke billowing from the building.
The fire was brought under control by 5.18pm by crews from West Norwood Fire Station, who are now investigating the cause.
