Independent restaurant Peckham Cellars has been awarded a prestigious Bib Gourmand UK 2021 award by the Michelin Guide.
The awards are given to restaurants serving good quality food for a modest price, with Peckham Cellars being one of seven London establishments awarded this year.
Others recognised include Flor in London Bridge, Paradise in Soho and Mo Diner in Mayfair.
It is a huge achievement given the impact of COVID and lockdowns – and the fact the restaurant only opened just over a year ago.
Twenty-seven-year-old Luke West-Whylie, the youngest of Peckham Cellar’s three co-founders, said: “Peckham Cellars winning a Bib Gourmand award is such a joy for the whole team.
“Being recognised for our hard work this last year helps further establish south-east London as a restaurant destination.
“We hope that other local establishments and those in the wider area are also given the acknowledgement they deserve.”
