A photographic competition is giving competitors the chance to support Southwark’s “most vulnerable households”.
Kineara, a charitable organisation supporting individuals and families living through challenging housing situations, is inviting people to submit photos with themes of ‘home’ and ‘reflection’.
Entry fees will go to Kineara’s Winter Appeal, providing food and warmth to needy households over the colder months.
Southwark-based photographer Mark Norcliffe will assess the snaps, with participants in with a chance of winning one of two £75 multi-store vouchers.
Kineara Founder Maria Morgan said: “Nearly 80 per cent of those we support are experiencing food, fuel, and furniture poverty. They regularly must choose between putting food on the table or heating their home.
“By entering this competition, you not only stand a chance of winning exciting prizes but also actively contribute to supporting some of Southwark’s most vulnerable households during the winter months.”
The competition is open to photographers of all abilities, whether amateur or having professional experience.
Entrants are free to interpret the themes as they see fit. “The possibilities are as limitless as your creativity,” Kineara said.
Deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday, December 15. A nominal entry fee of £3 is applicable, with an additional charge of £1 for each photo submitted. People can submit a maximum of give photos. For more information and to submit your entries, click here.
