The Odeon cinema at Surrey Quays will reopen its doors from July 13, after being given the go-ahead to reopen from Government after July 4.
Pubs, restaurants, and other cinemas will also begin reopening from July 4 after rule changes announced this week.
The branch’s general manager, Ant Thompson, said: “We have made lots of changes to create a new safer cinema experience for you, and we look forward to welcoming you back.”
Fewer tickets will be sold to help with social distancing during screenings, says the chain. Staff will be wearing PPE such as face masks and gloves, and “enhanced” cleaning will take place between shows.
Films which will be shown include Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back, and 1917.
