Rotherhithe and Bermondsey charity Time and Talents has thanked its ten “fantastic” volunteers running the London marathon this year.
Liv Hawe, Dave Barnett, Elin Moore, Kate Taylor, Charlie Moore, Janine Rasiah, Rob Harris, Ben Miller, Amy Glover and Nikita Todd are all taking on the 26-mile race this Sunday (October 4) which passes through the area. All have committed to raising at least £1,500 for the charity.
A spokesperson for the community charity said: “It has been a hard eighteen months for all of us, and the runners obviously had their marathon ambitions derailed last year due to the pandemic. So everyone is absolutely thrilled that the event is finally happening, and all the runners’ training – through lockdowns, heatwaves and rainstorms – is well and truly paying off.”

Local resident Charlie Moore said: “Training in the heat of summer has been hard but it will be worth it when, all being well, I cross the finish line on 3rd October knowing that the money raised is going to a really good cause.”
