A pensioner charged with offences in connection with the fatal shooting of eighteen-year-old Walworth boy Ben Purdy will appear at Woolwich Crown Court later this month.

Alexander Bayne, 70, was charged on February 4 with assisting an offender and committing an act with the intent to pervert the course of public justice.

Last week, Bayne appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court and was bailed to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on March 31.

Ben (pictured) was killed in November 2014.
