King’s College Hospital has hired a new diversity chief – its first permanent job of this kind.
Funmi Onamusi will be director of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Onamusi will be responsible for “accelerating the Trust’s ambitious EDI agenda” – although the hospital did not say what this entails. She will also be tasked with “inspiring and delivering sustainable cultural change”.
She joins from Big Four consultancy firm EY, where she worked with organisations on improving diversity and inclusion. Clients included a national healthcare organisation and a police service.
Onamusi has eighteen years’ experience of this kind of work. She replaces Claudette Elliott, who took the job on an interim basis last year.
