Dulwich Hamlet manager Paul Barnes knows his side are in a “tough” period as their winless run stands at seven games following Tuesday night’s 3-2 defeat at Braintree Town.
Baris Altintop gave the hosts the lead in the 20th minute and former Millwall striker Alfie Pavey made it 2-0 two minutes before half-time.
Quade Taylor halved the deficit ten minutes into the second half but Braintree struck again with twelve minutes left through Jack Turner.
Will Wood scored Dulwich’s second in the 92nd minute but the visitors left empty-handed.
Last Saturday, the Hamlet lost 2-1 to Tonbridge Angels at Champion Hill. Jordan Greenidge put the visitors in front in the 37th minute before Quade Taylor put through his own net with ten minutes left.
Nana Owusu got one back in the 85th minute and then Jack Holland had a late chance for an equaliser but shot straight at goalkeeper Jonathan Henly.
Barnes reflected on how his side tried to the final whi.
“It’s a tough one at the moment because there have been too many of these occasions where we’re getting undone by soft goals,” Barnes told the News after Saturday’s game.
He added: “No one’s going anywhere, this is the squad we’ve got and we have to get the best out of them.”
Dulwich are eighteenth in the National League South table, six points above the relegation zone. They return to Champion Hill this Saturday when they take on Bath City at 3pm.
Meanwhile, Barnes has added forward Nebay Haile to his squad.
The 23-year-old has most recently been with Harrow Borough, and has also played for Northwood and Sutton Common Rovers this season.
He has National League South experience with Hemel Hempstead Town and Dartford.
