MILLWALL defender Joe Bryan has been given a three-game suspension after clashing with Coventry star Tatsuhiro Sakamoto.
The full-back appeared to elbow the Sky Blues midfielder in the head in an unsavoury incident during Millwall’s 2-1 defeat at the CBS Arena.
The moment occurred around the 27th minute and was missed by match officials at the time. But a video of the clash has since spread among fans on social media.
The ban means Bryan will now miss tonight’s game against Ipswich Town, Saturday’s match against Sheffield Wednesday and the trip to Southampton a week later.
The 30-year-old admitted to the charge of violent conduct, according to an FA statement.
The Lions, who learned of the punishment yesterday, will not contest the decision.
Bryan will be available again for Millwall’s home game against Watford at the beginning of March.
It is the second suspension the Lions have had to deal with this season after George Saville was sent off against Norwich City at the end of last year.
Bryan arrived at The Den on a free deal last summer.
