GEORGE Saville is the latest Millwall player to pay tribute to owner John Berylson.
After Shaun Hutchinson’s poignant interview yesterday, Saville also spoke warmly about Berylson after his passing on Tuesday.
Millwall are into the penultimate day of work at their training camp in Alicante. The players and staff formed a circle on one of the training pitches yesterday to observe a minute’s silence.
They will fly home on Saturday and the players and staff will go to The Den on Monday for another tribute.
After that, preparations will begin for the first pre-season friendly against Gillingham on Saturday. There is more poignancy in the fact that it is against a Neil Harris team.
“An amazing owner but more importantly an amazing man,” Saville said in a message on Millwall’s Twitter. “The club wouldn’t be where it is today without his dedication and support.
“Thank you doesn’t seem enough but everything going forward will be for him.
“Sending all my love to Mr Chairman’s family, friends, as well as everyone connected past and present to Millwall Football Club.
“Rest in peace, Mr Chairman.”
