GARY Rowett has said Millwall will look to “strengthen” the squad following his side’s 3-1 defeat at Norwich.
The Lions were outplayed by the Canaries and lost after goals from Jonathan Rowe, Josh Sargent and Ashley Barnes.
Aidomo Emakhu, a second half substitute, came off the bench to grab a consolation strike in stoppage time.
Rowett hinted the defeat has made him believe that reinforcements were needed.
The Lions boss said after the game: “We’ve got to work, we’ve got to show a reaction. We’ve got to, probably, strengthen the group I think and we might have to think about how we strengthen it due to some of the things we lacked today.
“I think it has to be personal pride out there on the pitch. We’ve got two young players [Romain Esse and Aidomo Emakhu] that for different reasons have probably been the brightest sparks of our season so far. And, to me, that shouldn’t happen.
“It should be senior players. I don’t want to target our senior players because, listen, we’ve got players who have performed so well for such a long time in this division and they’ll be hurting just as much as me. But our young players have shown probably at the moment the spark we need during the season and we need to see more from the group as a whole.
“But like I said, players don’t go out there to not look like they’re trying. Players don’t go out there to not look like they’re competing. Certain things happen in games where you lose confidence and it manifests itself but, it’s a big boy’s league, it’s the Championship. People don’t wait for you to find your form and find your qualities.”
