JOE Edwards is hoping Ryan Leonard’s hamstring injury is “not too bad” after the defender went off against Leicester City.
Shortly after the Foxes’ second goal, the 31-year-old looked upset as he left the pitch with medical staff after being assessed on the pitch.
He was replaced by Ryan Longman in the 3-2 FA Cup third-round defeat and could now join Casper De Norre, Shaun Hutchinson, Murray Wallace and Brooke Norton-Cuffy on the injury list.
Speaking after the game, Millwall boss Edwards said: “It’s obviously a big disappointment. Not just for Lenny but the week we’ve had really. Since having that positive spell through the fixtures at Christmas we’ve lost a few from the Bristol City game, albeit not really long-term ones from that, but the Lenny one is a disappointment because he’s been integral to this sort of consistent run we’ve had of late.
“If I’m honest, his reaction… I’m not sure if that was just more disappointment instead of pain, I haven’t spoken to him yet. It’s a hamstring so it’s one of those where over the next few days we’re going to have to find the full extent of that but hopefully not too bad.”
Aidomo Emakhu missed the game after dislocating his shoulder in injury and will be assessed in the coming days.
Edwards said: “From an extremely innocuous incident in training, he dislocated his shoulder yesterday. It’s one of those where he’s had a scan and now he’s following up with an appointment with a specialist on Monday morning because when the shoulder pops in and out it can either do very little damage and you can find yourself back on the pitch a week later or they can be bad ones where, at times, you need surgery. So we have our fingers crossed on that and by Monday afternoon we’ll have a better idea of when he’ll be back.”
Goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski also missed the game as he had been unwell recently and has not trained.
With all the absences, four youngsters still waiting to make their debuts – Niino Adom-Malaki, Sha’mar Lawson, Kamarl Grant and George Walker – made the bench but none came on.
