JAMES Brown moved closer to potentially returning to the senior fold as he played 70 minutes in Millwall’s 2-2 Professional Development League draw against Charlton at Calmont Road on Monday.
Brown has been out since July with a knee injury.
The right-back had been earmarked by former Lions boss Neil Harris as a player who could break into the first-team squad.
Chuks Aneke and Abraham Odoh gave The Addicks a 2-0 lead which they held until 10 minutes from time, before George Alexander and Besart Topalloj – who had come on for Brown – earned Millwall a point.
Another promising youngster, Isaac Olaofe, is also returning from injury.
Under-23 boss Kevin Nugent said: “They’re getting closer to doing the full 90 minutes now. That’s the next stage. We’re just making sure we monitor their situation, but they’re close to being fully available now.”
