TIM Cahill and James Meredith have been named in Australia’s final 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia this summer.
It will be Cahill’s fourth World Cup and he will be looking to become just the fourth man ever after Pele, Uwe Seeler and Miroslav Klose to score at four separate tournaments.
As for Meredith, he started all 46 league games in an impressive first campaign for Millwall and will be looking to add to his two caps he earned whilst at Bradford City in 2015.
The 30-year-old was called into the squad for the friendlies against Norway and Colombia in March, but didn’t manage to feature.
The Socceroos are in Group C and will play France, Denmark and Peru, but firstly, face Hungary next Saturday in their final warm-up game before departing for Russia.
