MILLWALL have confirmed the signing of Bart Bialkowski from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.
Bialkowski, 32, joined the Lions on a season-long loan last summer, and has now sealed a permanent switch.
The Poland international has been Millwall’s first-choice goalkeeper since Frank Fielding went off injured on the opening day of the season against Preston.
Bialkowski has made 30 appearances in all competitions this campaign and kept nine clean sheets.
Millwall manager Gary Rowett said: “It’s brilliant. Part of the process of any window is trying to make long-term decisions as well as short term trying to impact the team.
“Getting Bart was a big priority. We left the clubs to try to find a solution and they have. Bart wanted to come here and be part of what we’re trying to do long term.
“It’s really exciting, he’s done brilliantly well. The first few games when we had to make that decision it was really easy because he was making big save after big save. Thankfully as our structure’s got a little bit better he’s been slightly quieter.
“But nevertheless when he’s been called into action he’s been excellent. Having him here long term and taking away that uncertainty towards the end of the season is brilliant for both parties.”
