GEORGE Saville is nursing a calf issue he picked up before the international break, Neil Harris has revealed.
The experienced midfielder, 30, was absent from the matchday squad for Northern Ireland’s 1-1 friendly draw with Romania on Friday night.
It is not clear at this stage how serious the issue is or if his absence was just a precaution.
Millwall boss Harris told NewsAtDen: “George left us last week with some calf issues. So he wasn’t involved with Northern Ireland and we’ll have to see how he materialises over the coming days with Northern Ireland and ourselves leading into the weekend.”
Northern Ireland are next in action tomorrow night in a friendly against Scotland.
And then it’s a quick turnaround for Saville who, if he is fit, will hope to feature for Millwall in their Good Friday clash against West Bromwich Albion.
In better news for the Lions, Harris believes Aidomo Emakhu could be involved in the squad for their Easter double-header against West Brom and then Rotherham United on Monday.
Emakhu, 20, has only appeared in three of the Lions’ last 14 games and most recently had a quad injury.
Harris said: “Aidomo is back in the training group. Aidomo has the potential to be available with selection over the Easter period, whether that’s Friday or Monday. I wouldn’t have thought Aidomo would be back in contention for a starting place but possibly back into the squad.”
The Millwall boss added that he is hoping to get strikers Tom Bradshaw and Kevin Nisbet back by the middle of April.
