Two more men have been charged with drug offences after another series of coordinated raids in Southwark last week.
Jamari Richardson, 23, of St Bartholomews Close in Sydenham, was charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs between January and March this year, as well as attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Bernard Aryee, 52, of Blackfriars Road on Bankside, was also charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs over the same period, and possession of Class A drugs. The men were arrested after police raids last Thursday, July 29.
Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ court. No court date has been set yet.
It comes after eight other men were charged with drug offences following a series of dawn raids across Southwark the previous week.
The News was at the scene of the drugs warrants early in the morning of Wednesday, July 21, the culmination of an eight-month long investigation.
Ismael Abourahman, 39 from Avondale Rise, SE15 was charged with supplying and offering to supply crack cocaine and possessing and supplying cannabis. He has pleaded not guilty to all offences except the cannabis possession.
Twenty-five-year-old Rushard Brown, from Peckham’s Hastings Close, faces crack cocaine, cannabis and criminal property charges. He has pleaded not guilty to all offences except the charge of cannabis possession.
Akeem Thomas, aged 25 and from Elmington Estate’s Brisbane Street was charged with supplying crack cocaine and faces a criminal property charge.
Also charged with crack cocaine charges is fifty-five-year-old Birol Salih from King Arthur Close in Peckham.
All will next appear at Inner London Crown Court on Thursday, August 19.
Three other adult men were charged on Thursday,Jul 22y and appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court the same day. They are also due to appear at Inner London Crown Court, on Thursday, 19 August.
Forty-four-year-old Berris Manning from Peckham Park Road faces heroin and crack cocaine charges, as does Dwight Merrick, aged 41, from Walworth’s Hopwood Road.
Osahon Okunbowa, aged 29, from Pelier Estate’s Olney Road, pleaded guilty to supplying heroin and crack cocaine. He will be sentenced at Inner London Crown Court at a later date.
Two teenagers who cannot be named for legal reasons were also arrested.
A sixteen-year-old boy was charged with supplying crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply cannabis. He pleaded not guilty and has now been bailed to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 31 August.
Another sixteen-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and has since been released under investigation.
Two adult men have also been released under investigation: two 21-year-olds arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.
A 52-year-old man arrested on suspicion of supplying crack cocaine will face no further action and neither will a 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A and being in possession of Class B drugs.
