Southwark Council are encouraging people to visit parks to catch Pokemon as part of Love Parks Week.
With the release of the augmented reality mobile game Pokemon GO, people have been taking to the streets to catch the creatures around London.
The game requires the player to have their phone out to notify them when a Pokemon is near. It then uses the camera to impose it onto real-life surroundings.
As Love Parks Week gets officially underway between July 15 and 24, efforts are being made to help raise awareness of the importance of parks and green spaces.
It is hoped that the combination of good weather and a game that gets people outside will boost many park’s appeal.
