Illegal peanut vendors felt the full force of a police crackdown this weekend after police and trading standards shut down two trolleys outside Blackfriars.
Councillor Victoria Mills, cabinet member for finance, performance and Brexit told the News: “Council officers were on their daily joint patrol along with police officers at the weekend.
“Together they aim to address a variety of issues, including illegal trading and this is what the peanut sellers were challenged about.
“Southwark is buzzing with entrepreneurial spirit and we would encourage all street vendors to complete one of our temporary street trading applications and secure a temporary street trading registration card.”
Was anyone a-roasted?
