SHANE Ferguson is hoping for the last word on a pair of Millwall team-mates this week.
Ferguson and Conor McLaughlin are in Northern Ireland’s squad for their friendly at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin against the Republic of Ireland on Thursday.
Shaun Williams and Aiden O’Brien will be hoping to add to their recent cap haul for Martin O’Neill’s side.
It is the first meeting between the sides since 2011.
“It’s big, we’re all looking forward to it and it’s going to be a great atmosphere at the Aviva,” Ferguson said.
“I’ve got a few mates on the team as well so it’s about bragging rights. At Millwall Shaun Williams and Aiden O’Brien are there so they’ve been starting the slagging already.
“We’re all looking forward to it and hopefully we can send those two back quiet after the game.
“It’ll be good to see the but hopefully we’ll be the ones laughing after the game.”
Ferguson’s thoughts on Northern Ireland’s recent form would strike a chord with Lions fans.
He said: “We’re playing great, it’s just that a little bit of luck hasn’t been going our way. We’re working really hard and we’re just trying to get back to being a difficult team to beat.”
