SHAUN Williams is in contention for Millwall’s League One clash with Port Vale on Tuesday night.
Williams missed the 1-0 win over Southend at the weekend after his wife, Sinead, gave birth to their second child.
Ben Thompson, Lee Gregory and Shaun Hutchinson are all doubts after they were ruled out of the game against the Shrimpers with injury.
While Millwall are looking to extend their unbeaten run to 12 games in all competitions, Port Vale haven’t won in 2017.
They were fifth in the table after beating Millwall 3-1 on September 27, but manager Bruno Ribeiro resigned after a 1-0 defeat to Walsall on Boxing Day.
The Valiants have won only once on the road this season in 17 games.
Michael Brown has been in caretaker charge since Ribeiro left, but has overseen just one victory.
But, despite that desperate form, Lions boss Neil Harris isn’t underestimating Port Vale’s strengths.
“They’re a very competitive team and they’re aggressive and play on the front foot,” Harris said. “They’ve got a manager who was a winner as a player.
“It’s a tough fixture for us on the back of Saturday’s physical game. We’re going to have to be as gritty and determined and resilient as we were at the weekend.
“The quality that we had, particularly in the first half, we have to try to sustain that for 90 minutes.
Harris also insisted all the focus is on this fixture ahead of the fifth round of the FA Cup against Leicester City on Saturday.
“The FA Cup will take care of itself when we get there,” he said. “There are no thoughts in terms of that at the moment.
“All I’m worried about is following up a really good performance against Southend with a similar performance and result against Port Vale.”
Brown brought in former Premier League players Chris Eagles and Danny Pugh in January to give his squad more experience. Tyler Walker – son of former England defender Des – has scored two goals in four games since joining on loan from Nottingham Forest.
But ex-West Brom winger Jerome Thomas is a doubt after he had to pull out of the squad before Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Gillingham.
