MILLWALL’s Aiden O’Brien has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award for October.
O’Brien scored three league goals as Millwall rose from 15th to seventh in the League One table, and he also scored against Northampton as the Lions progressed to the area quarter-finals of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
O’Brien, who turned 22 on October 4, showed his versatility throughout the month, playing on either flank and up front, and he has become a key player for Millwall following his return from the injury he suffered in pre-season.
The other three nominees are players Millwall fans will be familiar with this season.
Coventry striker Adam Armstrong scored twice at The Den in August as Tony Mowbray’s side crushed the Lions 4-0. Peterborough’s Jon Taylor netted a double against Neil Harris’ men in the Posh’s win at London Road on October 3, while Bradford’s centre-back Reece Burke helped nullify the threat of Steve Morison and Lee Gregory last weekend.
Gary Caldwell (Wigan), Phil Parkinson (Bradford), Dean Saunders (Chesterfield) and Mark Robins (Scunthorpe) have been nominated for the manager awards.
The winner will be announced this Friday, November 6.
