KENNY Jackett wants Millwall to turn their “disappointing” home form around with a win against promotion-chasing Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Boro have emerged victorious from their previous two visits to South London, winning 3-1 last season and 3-2 the year before, and Jackett knows Tony Mowbray’s side will pose another tough test.
“We have had good games against Middlesbrough, very good games,” he told News Shopper.
“They are a good footballing side who were close to promotion last year, almost getting into that top six.
“They’ve been in the Premier League and they will be looking to get into the top six again this year I am sure. They have a lot of talented players.”
The Lions lost their first two competitive matches of the season on home soil, to Crawley Town and Blackpool respectively, and Jackett says finding form at The Den is crucial.
“We have been disappointed to some degree with our home form,” he said. “Last year we picked up very well at the end but our home form is really important to us because we want to put on a good show in front of our own fans.
“We will see what we can do on Saturday. We need to play well and get results at home, that’s our aim because we don’t want to be having a poor season.”
