MILLWALL have secured defender Wes Harding on a free deal for their third signing of the summer.
The 26-year-old left Rotherham after three years at the New York Stadium and bid goodbye to fans this morning.
The Lions have announced this afternoon that he has joined the club, following ex-Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet and full-back Joe Bryan as the latest arrivals at The Den.
Reacting to the signing, Director of Football Operations and Recruitment, Alex Aldridge, said: “Wes strengthens the squad and improves our defensive options in a number of positions given that he can play as a centre-back, full-back or wing-back.
“He has been an ever-present for Rotherham in the past three seasons and he joins us with a real desire to kick on again and establish himself in our team.
“Having worked with the manager and some of our backroom staff before, we also know that in Wes we are adding an excellent character and leadership qualities to our group.”
The new signing broke into Birmingham City’s first-team from their academy and spent five years there before joining Rotherham in 2020.
He would then be relegated with the club to League One before he and his teammates gained an instant return to the Championship in the 2021/22 season.
Leicester-born Harding has also played international football, making two appearances for Jamaica in 2021.
