Firefighters rushed to Honor Oak Park after part of a building collapsed on Monday afternoon.
At 5.24pm, the wall at the front of a terraced building used as a shop and art studio fell, with firefighters carrying out a full search.
Firefighters from New Cross, Greenwich, Peckham and Forest Hill attended and the incident was over by 9.15pm.
The building is in between Linkway Cars and hair salon Barbaros. There were no reports of any injuries.
Station Commander Dan Capon, who was at the scene, said: “Honor Oak Park was closed whilst crews made the scene safe and a 25-metre cordon was put in place as a precaution.
“One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders was used as an observational tower at the scene to assess damage from above.”
