More than 10,000 people enjoyed the Bermondsey Carnival on Saturday, July 2, at Southwark Park as music, drink and laughter saw revellers refuse to let the rain dampen their spirits.
Carnival goers enjoyed music from 1980s music icon Paul Young, face-painting, food stalls, rides and a petting zoo.
The music, organised by Bermondsey Beat, attracted people from all corners of London and showcased the best Southwark has to offer.
Councillor Johnson Situ, Southwark Council’s Cabinet Member for Business, Employment and Culture said: “Over 10,000 people attended our annual Bermondsey Carnival and I want to thank everyone involved for keeping this big community festival going year after year.
“Continuing to run these free events for residents is an increasing challenge, but it is fantastic to see so many people getting behind them and making them a success.”
