BROOKE Norton-Cuffy came off the bench as England’s Under-21s continued their strong European Championship qualifying form.
Following last week’s 5-1 win over Azerbaijan, the Three Lions beat Luxembourg 7-0 yesterday.
Norton-Cuffy replaced Leeds United’s Archie Gray at right-back in the final 30 minutes with Chelsea’s Noni Madueke and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers both hitting doubles in the rout.
Elsewhere, George Saville was absent from Northern Ireland’s squad for a second time as he nurses a calf issue.
Millwall boss Neil Harris told NewsAtDen earlier this week that the midfielder had picked up the problem before leaving on international duty.
In Saville’s absence, Northern Ireland beat Scotland 1-0 in a friendly.
Also in friendly action was Matija Sarkic’s Montenegro. The goalkeeper played the full game and kept a clean sheet in his country’s 1-0 friendly win over North Macedonia. Ex-Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic grabbed the winner.
And Michael Obafemi was left on the bench for both of the Republic of Ireland’s friendlies, a 0-0 draw with Belgium on Saturday and a 1-0 defeat to Switzerland last night.
