JOE Edwards said he “completely understands” if Allan Campbell is frustrated with his game time at Millwall amid reports that the midfielder could be on the move.
The Lions signed the Scotsman on a season-long loan from Luton Town on transfer deadline day last summer.
But the 25-year-old has struggled for game time recently with Campbell only appearing for four minutes against Huddersfield in the Lions’ last seven games.
Reports in recent days have suggested Luton may look into cancelling the loan so Campbell can go somewhere he can play regularly.
Asked about this at his pre-match press conference ahead of Millwall’s trip to QPR, Edwards said: “I can’t tell you anything in relation to what Luton have or haven’t said because I haven’t been told anything myself about Luton.
“But I understand the question because Allan’s obviously a player that has left his parent club on loan to get game time and isn’t getting much of it. So if Allan’s got a frustration with a lack of game time, I completely understand that.
“It’s not easy. It’s obviously area of the pitch for us in midfield and particularly in this recent period I’ve liked what George Honeyman and Billy Mitchell had been doing together and before that, George Saville had been a big player for us.
“If there’s a frustration from Allan’s point of view we need to have a conversation. And if there’s a solution that works for everyone, then that’s something I’m more than happy to participate in but at the moment I’ve not been told anything to be honest.
“He trained this morning and that’s as far as I know.”
Transfer business has picked up in the last few days at The Den with Nino Adom-Malaki heading to Sutton United on loan before Japhet Tanganga’s loan move from Tottenham to Millwall was confirmed in the last few hours.
