CHIN Okoli and Kyle Smith both missed out on playing this weekend due to injury.
Okoli, on loan at Bromley, went off after 26 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Boreham Wood last weekend and was not fit enough to make Saturday’s game against struggling AFC Fylde in the National League.
Without the impressive 20-year-old, Bromley pulled through and won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Josh Passley in the second half. They are now up to third in the table.
Wealdstone were not as successful without Smith. The full-back has made a huge impact since joining the fifth-tier club, playing 11 games and scoring twice.
FC Halifax beat Wealdstone 1-0 with another young Millwall loanee, Abdul Abdulmalik, coming off the bench for the final 13 minutes but unable to find an equaliser.
It is the first time the striker has managed to get off the bench since October 21 and he is still searching for his first Wealdstone goal.
Nana Boateng, meanwhile, has not played for Woking since September due to a foot injury. Woking lost 1-0 to Oldham on Saturday.
Up in League One, Alex Mitchell’s Lincoln City lost 1-0 to Stevenage.
The game was one of only two League One fixtures this weekend due to the international break with Mitchell, who spoke to NewsAtDen earlier this week, taking up his regular space in the Imps’ back three.
But there was nothing he could do to stop Jamie Reid scoring in the second half as the forward notched up his 11th goal of the season.
And down in League Two Salford City lost 3-1 to Gillingham, who named Stephen Clemence as Neil Harris’ replacement earlier this month.
Former Lions striker Matt Smith struck an equaliser for the Gills before Salford conceded two second half goals. Goalkeeper Joe Wright was an unused sub again with his only Salford appearances so far coming in the EFL Trophy.
