GARY ROWETT said there will be no rush to hurry Casper De Norre back to full fitness after the Belgian midfielder missed the last two games.
The Millwall boss said the 26-year-old will be assessed before Saturday’s trip to Birmingham City but there was no need to “take a risk” with the international break looming.
An issue with his back kept De Norre out of Norwich game while he also missed the win against Stoke on the weekend.
Rowett told NewsAtDen: “He’s doing alright. Joining in with some training. Again, we’ll have to assess whether he’s okay for the weekend or whether we think that’s too soon. I certainly think with the international break coming up we don’t necessarily need to take a risk but it would be nice to get him back involved.
Meanwhile, club captain Shaun Hutchinson is having a few days of recovery after he “took a whack” in the 1-0 win over Stoke City.
The 32-year-old got caught up in an incident during a first half corner where his centre-back partner Jake Cooper forced a great save out of Mark Travers with a header.
But he ended up landing on top of Hutchinson, leaving him to be assessed by medical staff on the pitch before he continued for the rest of the game.
Rowett added: “Hutchy took a whack. Coops landed on him. Of all the people to land on top of you, you don’t want Coops, do you?
“We weren’t sure whether he’d done something a little bit more serious but he managed to get through the game and again he’ll probably just need a few days recovery to then start training back end of the week.
